Biography
A widely celebrated and deeply respected teacher,
Peter Frances James teaches acting, with a specialization in heightened language texts, in the graduate program at the School of Drama at Yale University. A renowned stage actor superb in both classical and contemporary drama, he was most recently featured in Regina Taylor’s play Drowning Crow at the Manhattan Theatre Club. On television he is best known for playing Raymond Parks, husband of Rosa Parks, in The Rosa Parks Story; for a recurring role as Judge Kevin Beck on Law & Order; and for playing Jahfree Neema in the HBO television series Oz. Some of his most recent work includes The Messenger, as Dr. Grosso, The Rebound, playing a doctor, and The Pack as Marc Forrest. He has also appeared in many films, such as Joe Gould's Secret and Montana.
