Leave of Absence Instructions

1.  Please write a letter briefly explaining the reason(s) you would like to take a leave, what you plan to do while you're away, and when you plan to return. The letter should include your Student ID# and all current contact information.

2.  Fill out a Drop/Add form – available on the 3rd floor – to drop all of your classes for the semester in which you are requesting a leave. Have the drop form signed by Daniel Spector and then Student Affairs. If you are already off-campus, you may request that your courses be dropped without the form.  If classes haven't begun yet, you can drop your classes yourself on ALBERT, and then request that we drop just the last class for you (ALBERT won’t let you drop all of your classes yourself).  This last course should be a Tisch or Drama course, if at all possible, as we can drop the Tisch courses faster.

3.  Fill out and sign a Leave of Absence Request Form.

4.  Turn in all of the above information to Daniel Spector at 721 Broadway, Room 303 (Fax 212-998-1855).  Please stay in touch while you’re away!
