Advisors

As a student, you are assigned an advisor whom you will be required to see at least once each semester. This advisor is either faculty or staff, and in your required meeting they will discuss with you your planned course of study for the following semester, as well as clear you to register.

You cannot register before you've been cleared by your advisor. 

You are encouraged to see your advisor as often as you need to. Feel free to contact them not only for registration but also to discuss any concerns you have regarding your life at NYU, especially those things that pertain to your education and training.

Students nearing graduation (92 points and above) will be assigned a special Graduation Counselor.

If you don't know who your advisor is, you may check the "Who's My Advisor?" book at the front desk or contact the Front Desk staff at 212-998-1850. You may also contact the front desk to find out your advisor's office hours or for help in reaching your advisor.
