Adler Transfer Track

H28.0206   Studio   8 Credits

Audition by appointment. Contact Joanne Edelmann at Adler (212) 689-0087.
The goal of the Third Year Transfer Track is to build upon the previous training of the students with the Adler point of view, and to impart to experienced students of acting the particular techniques and the spirit of the Stella Adler Studio. To this end we have created a curriculum with our most gifted and experienced teachers who will expose them to the rigor of training which is inherent in the Stella Adler approach to acting.
The curriculum has elements of our first, second, and the third years of training with an emphasis on imagination, improvisation, and a strong commitment to the body, voice, language, and the text. They will also experience the studio's passionate commitment to develop the young artist as an ever-evolving human being.
The first 22 weeks (the entire first semester and half the second) is devoted to in-class studio work: Adler Technique with Ron Burrus; Classical Workshop with James Tripp; Movement Techniques with Joanne Edelmann; Physical Acting with Joan Evans; Contemporary Scene Study with Earle Gister; Voice, Language, and Text with Robert Perillo; Improvisation with Noel Wilson; and Dance with Steven Baker Cook.
Students come back after Spring Break and do a full production with the continuation of three classes: Voice, Language, and Text with Robert Perillo; Dance with Steven Baker Cook; and Movement Techniques with Joanne Edelmann.
