A primer in stage management focusing on the basic skills, procedures, and responsibilities of a theatrical stage manager. In-class projects and hands-on training provide practical experience while assignments build proficiency on the material. The class is broken down into four sections, pre-production, rehearsal period, tech, and performance. Main goals are to develop management techniques. to build a Production Book, and to understand running a show. Students will leave with enough knowledge to successfully stage-manage at the university and independent theatre level. Designed for those interested in understanding more about the process of mounting a production or who love to organize.
