Accents and Dialects I
American and European Accents: A study of phonetics is applied to each dialect to show the sound substitutions existing between American speech and the dialect being studied.
Accents and Dialects II
This class looks comprehensively at American Southern and New York, as well as Russian, French, German, Italian, and West Indian dialects. Knowledge of phonetics is helpful but not necessary. Accents & Dialects I is not a prerequisite.
