Education

Beth received her master’s degree from New York University in Arts Administration: Theater Management.

Biography

Producing Director for both the Atlantic Theater Company and Classic Stage Company. While at Atlantic she produced Writer’s Block, written and directed by Woody Allen; Blue/Orange by Joe Penhall andThe Butter and Egg Man, both named the “Best Plays of the Season” by The New York Times and Time Out/New York, Dublin Carol by Conor McPherson, and the award-winning revival of Hobson’s Choice. Some of the works she produced at Classic Stage include The Misathrope with Uma Thurman and Roger Rees, Texts for Nothing with Bill Irwin, and Waiting for Godot with Tony Shalhoub and John Turturro. Beth has also been on the staffs of Lincoln Center Theater, The Brooklyn Academy of Music, The New York Shakespeare Festival, National Artists Management Company and the Pittsburgh Public Theatre. She is a member of Naked Angels and has served as the Producing Director of the organization as well as producing many of the company’s main stage shows and benefits. Her Naked Angels’ producing credits include Easter by Will Scheffer, Side Man by Warren Leight, The Waverly Gallery by Kenneth Lonergan, Time on Fire by Evan Handler and Nebraska by Keith Reddin. She was instrumental in establishing Angels in Progress, a series of workshops and readings that enables playwrights, directors and actors the opportunity to collaborate and develop new theater pieces. Ms. Emelson has also produced several short films and a comedy series for HBO.
