Playwrights Horizons Theater School features rigorous training for actors, directors, and designers interested in becoming consummate theatre artists. An interdisciplinary program built on the principles of collaboration, PHTS also features supplementary courses in playwriting, dramaturgy, and musical theater, allowing students to individualize and expand their path of study. Third and fourth year students move into practical and applied study through fully produced plays, semester long projects with guest directors, and work in filmed scenes. The school is part of Playwrights Horizons, one of New York’s most successful non-profit Off-Broadway theaters and producer of such shows as the Pulitzer Prize-winning Sunday in the Park with George, Driving Miss Daisy, and the Tony Award-winning James Joyce’s The Dead.
