Biography

Gigi Buffington, AEA, SAG, AFTRA, VASTA specializes in voice and text. For the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC): Hamlet (with David Tennant and Patrick Stewart), Love’s Labour’s Lost (with David Tennant), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream; led company warm ups in the 1000 seat, Courtyard Theatre, in Stratford-Upon-Avon for all of the acting ensembles; led voice & text workshops from the plays to teachers and university students at Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust, and teacher- training workshops in Voice & Text in the RSC Rehearsal Studios. One of three practitioners in the world, and the only American, trained by Patsy Rodenburg at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London to receive an MA in Training Actors (Voice).  Post Graduate Award: Teaching Shakespeare in Theory and Practice for Actors and Artists, University of Warwick.  She led workshop intensives in Viewpoints & Composition for MadHouse Theatre Company at the Nemzeti Theatre in Budapest, Johnny Flynn and Company at Shunt, London, and at Rose Bruford College of Music & Drama.  In Chicago she founded and is the artistic director of, Field House Lab, led Voice & Text workshops for professional actors, taught Voice Training for the Actor III/IV and Acting III/ Shakespeare at Columbia College. She has served as vocal coach for CNN International working with bureau chiefs in Moscow, New Delhi and Lagos. She has performed many voice- overs and is represented by Stewart Talent Management.
